WHAT’S INCLUDED

“I’m too old to get faster.”
You’re not. We see it all the time. Once your nervous system is tuned properly, speed and explosiveness come back fast - no matter your age.

“I don’t have time.”
You don’t need it. Each workout lasts 30–45 minutes, 2–3 times a week. That means you could spend an hour in the gym and still see results. Everything is designed to fit around your existing swim schedule and life. Many of our members build their own gym at home to reduce travel time (reach out if you need advice on what to get)

“I already do dryland with my team.”
Not like this you don't. We recommend most of our athletes stop their current dryland (it's usually doing more harm than good) and replace it with our sessions. If your dryland is mandatory - remember you're not a child anymore and you can decide what's best for you.

“My body can’t handle heavy lifting anymore.”
That’s why we use the right tools for your nervous system - isometrics, full range strength, and controlled methods that build power without pain. You'll be lifting heavy without it feeling like it.

“I’m always sore.”
That’s not a sign of progress - it’s a sign your body isn’t adapting. This program rebuilds recovery capacity through smarter neural loading. After the first few weeks you shouldn't feel very sore on this program.

“What if I’ve never done gym work before?”
No problem. Every movement is explained and scaled for your ability level, with coaching videos and clear guidance.

“Do I need gym access?”
Basic equipment you find at almost any gym is enough - barbells, dumbbells, racks, pullup bars, cable machine.

“Will this really work with my age and recovery?”
Yes. In fact, the older you get, the more important this type of training becomes. It helps your body absorb training instead of just surviving it.

“What if it doesn’t work for me?”
You’re covered. If you don’t go a PB in your main events after your first season - we’ll train you for free until you do.

WHO AM I?

I’m Coach Jake Tyson, founder of SwimStrength.

I’ve helped swimmers of every level - from Olympians like Chad Le Clos and Max Litchfield to Masters athletes in their 40s, 50s, and 60s - rebuild their athleticism, fix pain, and hit lifetime PBs.

I built SwimStrength after my own plateau in college, when overtraining, injury and poor recovery nearly ended my swimming career.


Since then, I’ve dedicated my work to creating systems that help swimmers train less, perform better, and finally feel in control of their progress again.
